The Family of Stephen and Mary Ann Brown Whitman around 1904
It's estimated that this photograph was taken around 1904, probably in the Masonville area, of the surviving Whitman Siblings. This is a very well preserved photograph with a minimal of de-silvering. The surviving children of Stephen and Mary Ann are (standing l to r): Rufus Whitman (1843 - 1914), Harvey W. Whitman (1845 - 1912), John Whitman (1858 - 1924); (sitting l to r): Maria Whitman Broad (1835 -1906), Louise Whitman Tiffany (1837 - 1906), Samantha Whitman Dexter (1851 - 1919), Emma Whitman Couse (1853 - 1933). The siblings that have already passed on are Sarah Ann Whitman Woodmansee (1839 - 1896), James F. Whitman (1841 - 1883), and Bertha E. Whitman Mosher (1848 - 1890).
This photograph was from the collection of Helen Pearsall Cooley (1902 - 1996) and her close cousin Lila Couse Stoddard Phillips (1911- 1992) had identified the Whitman Siblings. Helen and Lila were both born in Masonville, Delaware, NY and interested in genealogy.
