This Cannonsville shot is an aerial view taken in color and used on a postcard about 1957 - shortly before the flooding began. It would be nice if a collection of all the towns could be gathered and posted. The towns that I now know about are: Cannonsville, Granton (once called Carpenter's Eddy), Rock Rift, Rock Royal (sometimes spelled Rockroyal), Beerston, Arena, Union Grove, Shavertown, Pepacton, Terry Clove, and Andes. Thanks to all who may contribute a picture and/or the name of another flooded town. We would also appreciate information about where such pictures may be found and/or purchased. - Don Seymour and Howard Seymour, August 11, 1999

The Seymour Homestead is shown in the lower right corner across the river from the town. It was owned and/or occupied by the Seymour family from the early 1800s to the early 1900s.
