My brother found this letter in my father's stamp album and it was written to our Great Great Grandfather, William Yeoman in Bovina and mentions several other men and is posted from Bloomville on May 1, 1846. It appears to be something to do with some military appointment - probably State militia - but I have never found a record of any of the men mentioned in the State militia. I have seen my GGGrandfather referred to as a Col. in several other records, as well. Anyway, the letter was one with two writers on one sheet of paper and the envelope was addressed to Col. Wm.Yeoman, Bovina Post office, Del. County. The envelope also reads "Paid 5, Bloomville May 1".

Col. Yeoman
Sir I am informed by Alm [?] Thomas that you wished to know if I would axcept of the office of Adjutant which is now vacant I should be glad to accept of the Office if you should think proper to appoint me. I
wish you to write a line to me and let me know whether or not I may expect the office.
Bloomville May 1st 1846, yours Andrew More, Jr.
Col. Yeoman,
I am glad to hear you are about to make the choice of Mr. More adjutant for he will make a good one
and come out in good shape. Lieut. McIntosh wished me to request you to call an election as soon as the
time expires which allowed for breaking up the Election as he expects to be Capt. and is anxious to get his commission as soon as possible so as not come to far on the left.
Yours
Henry Drake
