Delaware County NY Genealogy and History Site

We own this house which is located in the village of Franklin. It's a Greek Revival located at 202 Main Street. We understand it was built in 1850 but don't know much about it other that hearing various rumors about it's history. One item in particular that has peaked my interest is the unusual decoration on the front of the house which appears to be a representation of a star or perhaps a flower. I've never noticed something like this on any other homes in the area and was wondering if anyone would know what it's meant to represent and if it has any special significance. --Tom Buffington
