This photo of Clark H. McDonald was taken in the Civil War on the battlefield. Clark and his brother James, who came from the McDonald farm on Elk Creek Road in town of Meredith, were in the Civil War together. James became sick and died, as did many other soldiers in the war. Clark re-enlisted and became Captain of the Colored Troops serving from Virginia to Texas.
These three photos, of my great, great uncle Clark H. McDonald, were copied from photos which are housed in the Delaware County Historical Society in Delhi. The photos were donated to the Historical Society by Richard Cutler. --Pat Watts
