I do not know just when this picture was taken. I can tell you that I was in this cemetery during the second week of October of this year (2002) and it does not look much like this. It is all overgrown and there are lots of trees, headstones fallen over. I am descended from the Yaple family of this area, but cannot find my great great grandfather's name, yet. BYH

AEG
PGY
JHP
1890-1835 [sic]
EHY
[Readers' note: These stones correspond to names on the large stone with the cross, except for JHP. JHP and EHY stones were beside each other. It is assumed that JHP stands for J. H. Prentiss, husband of EHY (Ellen H. Yaple). The dates on JHP's stone were probably inscribed in reverse order. AEG = Augusta E. Yaple. PGY = Philip Guernsey Yaple. An earlier reading of the cemetery submitted by Roger Davis noted additional small stones not found by these readers, including: AHY (assumed Abraham H. Yaple); ND (Nelly Dumond); PD (Peter Davenport); HE (Hannah Elijah); FLD (Frances L Davenport); and PY (Philip Yaple). No small stone was found at either time that corresponds with Carrie C. MacClaughry.]
