These three photos were taken 11 Jul 2002 at the Harpersfield Rural/Stevens Cemetery
The cemetery viewed from the road.it took the second time driving by before we saw the gate.
Notice the year is part of the top of the gate.
photo 3 - an overview of the cemetery - it was early in midsummer and the grass was overgrown and wet with the morning dew ... and us in shorts and not a gardening tool in sight. --Sharon Thomas
The cemetery was not easy to find. It took the second time driving by before we saw the gate. It was early in the morning and the grass was wet and overgrown. The Dart headstones were all near the back. The gate has the date 1970 as part of the top.
There is a plaque -
Harpersfield Rural Cemetery - Stevens Cemetery - "This cemetery is endowed with perpetual - care in loving memory of - Lydia Wilcox Jones - Daughter of Moses Swift Wilcox - and Lydia Gaylord Beard Wilcox - and wife of Herschel V. Jones"
The tallest marker was four sided.
side 1 was marked only with the word "DART"
side 2 - Anson Dart - born Feb. 22, 1790 - died Jan 27, 1876
Sally Hoyet - wife of Anson Dart - born Feb 17, 1795 - died Oct 11, 1816
side 3 - a list of names, most likely the children of Anson
Emeline - Minerva A.- Elizabeth - Norman M. - Catharine - Martha - Mary J. - Millie - Addie
side 4 - Nancy Smith - 2nd wife of Anson Dart - born Oct 19, 1792 - died Dec 4, 1838
Emily Smith - 3rd wife of Anson Dart - born Feb 7, 1801 - died Mar.
26, 1871

marker says Sallie on the top, on the face - infant - son of - Anson & Sally

The next marker was very difficult to read, but I believe it said In Memory

Louis Dart - died Dec. 7 - 1847 - Æ 19 yrs 2 mo
