Delaware County NY Genealogy and History Site

On the back of this photo are written the words "Mr. and Mrs. Will Russell". An added note reads: "my grandmother worked for them at one time" (My grandmother being Mary Belle Place). I do not find any census record showing her residing with them and since there were other Will Russells listed in Delaware County census’ during the time periods that would be logical, I can’t match up with who the Mrs. was (since that info is not on the photo). If any one out there can identify these people that would be helpful and if they are related and would like to have the photo I would be willing to send it to them.

Mary Belle Place was born in 1888; is listed in 1900 census in town of Kortright with her mother and siblings; is listed in 1905 as a servant at the household of Wm. Smith family on Irish Hill, town of Meredith, Del. Co, NY at age 16; was married in 1907 to Daniel White, E. Meredith. I have no idea where the Russells may have resided and can only assume Delaware County.
