Delaware County NY Genealogy and History Site

These photos will do honor to the members of the Downsville Central School Board - my Dad, Howard Tait was elected to it in abt 1949 or 50 - and I believe served thru 1964. (All my classmates thought we could get away with stuff due to this - NOT SO - didn't pay to get in trouble in school 'cause one was in worse trouble at home.) These men all knew, liked and respected each other, were in Grange, Masons and whatever else pie was baking. Note that between 1949 to 1964 the board dropped from six to five. School Principal Ed Tillapaugh retired - a loss to the students. He was strict but fair & kind. --Harriett Schultz
