James A. Boggs

Funeral services for James A. Boggs, 87, of Bovina Center, who died Wednesday, Jan. 26 at O'Connor hospital, Delhi were held Saturday at 2 in the Bovina United Presbyterian church. Rev Robert Hammer, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in Bovina Center cemetery.

Mr. Boggs was born in Bovina Oct. 1, 1884, a son of Thomas and Jane (Archibald) Boggs. He was twice married. His first wife Edith Barnhart died Feb. 3, 1930. He married Catherine Cameron Kelsey July 25, 1947 in Delhi.

A retired farmer, he operated the family farm which had been in his family for more than 100 years. He was a charter member of Bovina Grange, life member of Bovina Presbyterian church and an elder of the church.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Anna) Hobbie and Mrs. Siegfried (Mary) Bathen, both of Bovina Center and Mrs. Morris (Helen) Tyrell, Delhi; one stepdaughter, Miss Jeanette Kelsey, Secausus, N.J. And a stepson, J. Russel Kelsey of Fraser. -----
