AMOS ARNOLD CIVIL WAR RECORD
Amos Arnold, was born 30 Sep 1840 in Unadilla, New York. He was the son of Charles Arnold and Elmira Matteson. He enlisted 29 August 1862 at Oxford when a resident of Masonville, Delaware, New York. Served in the 10th Cavalry Company K as a Private. Was in twelve battles, two at Fredericksburgh, Brandy Station and Snickers Gap Gettsburg. Brandy Station again and Wilderness Sulphur Spring. Wounded and in hospital 3 months. Discharged August 4, 1865. Living back in Masonville, Delaware County, NY.

Amos Arnold's brother Warren, is My GG grandfather. Warren Arnold was married to Mary Northrup Arnold Smith. Both Buried in the Pine Hill Cementery behind the Masonville Elementary School. Their grave is one of the first ones in.
Warren Arnold’s son George Wesley Arnold was the forman of the Acid factory in Cadosia, NY and lived there with his wife and her family until his death. He was my great grandfather. --Sheryl Arnold McGraw

David Smith was born in Fallsburg, NY in 1842. He served in the 25th Mounted Calvary. He enlisted in Hancock, NY with his brother John Smith. John Smith served in Company D of the 101st Regiment of Volunteers. John and David died in Kerryville, Cadosia, NY and were living according to the census with Elmer, David’s son. They are buried (except John)on the top of the Riverview Cemetary in Hancock, NY in the Smith-Day plot. Their brother-in-law, William Day, was in Company D 1st NY mounted Rifleman 1833-1902. They all stayed and lived in Cadosia, NY and buried in the Riverview Cemetary in Hancock, NY with the Wheelers and the Sands families.
