This is a photo of Delaware County 4H’ers having some sort of meeting or convention. Looking over the photo you can see delegates from all over Delaware County. Photo is undated.
We have since learned that the building is the Delaware Academy and Union Free School, Delhi, NY.
See early postcard photo. --Roger D. Davis, 8 May 2020

In the 1950’s there was an annual Delaware County 4-H Convention. Clubs & individual member from all of Delaware County participated. I think it was not new at that time, but don’t know that as a fact. They put together a band several years, but had only a few hours that day to rehearse together. Then a parade was held. At that time it was usually held in Walton or Delhi due to the size of the schools and central locations. I don’t recognize this picture as either of those places, but could be wrong.
My father had a 4-H club in his one room school for a short time probably some years between 1927 and 1937. It is one of the Cornell Cooperative Extension programs and at that time John Lennox was county leader. In the early 1950’s Harold Carley was county leader.
I hope someone else can identify the time and location better than I can. --Betty N. Watson, 8 May 2020
