The People of the State of New York, by the grace of God, Free and Independent, Send Greeting: to Sally Cannon and Elijah Mubrie
Wheras Nathaniel Cannon as is alleged, lately died intestate, having whilst living, and at the time of his death, Good, Chattels and Credits, within this State, by means whereof, the ordering and granting Administration of all and singular the said Goods, Chattels and Credits, and also the auditing, allowing and final discharging the Account thereof, doth appertain unto us. And we being desirous that the Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said deceased, may be well and faithfully administered, applied and disposed of, do grant unto you, the said, Sally Cannon and Elijah Mubie, full power, by these Presents, to administer and faithfully to dispose of all and singular the said Good, Chattels and Credits-to ask, demand, recover and receive the debts, which unto the said deceased, whilst living, and at the time of his death did belong, and to ay the debts which the said deceased did owe, so far as such Good, Chattels and Credits will thereto extend, and the law require: HEREBY requiring you to make, or cause to be made, a true and perfect Inventory al all and singular the Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come to your hands, possession or knowledge, and the same so made to exhibit, or cause to be exhibited into the Office of the surrogate of the said County of Delaware at or before the expiration of six calendar months from the date hereof: AND ALSO, to render a just and true account of Administration when thereunto required. And we do, by these Presents, Depute, Constitute and appoint you, the said Sally Cannon Administrator and Elijah Mubie Administrator of all and singular the Goods, Chattels, and Credits, which were of the said ------

To the Surrogate of the County of Delaware.
The petition of Sally Cannon of the Town of Meridith in the County of Delaware, represents that Nathaniel Cannon died on the 23 day of September 1843 at Meridith, afore died of a natural death, that at the time of his decease he was an inhabitant of the said town of Meridith and left -------(can't red) therin, that the person estate of the said deceased would not in the opinion of your petitioner exceed in value the some of one thousand dollars. That the said petitioner is the widow of the said deceased and is desirous that letters of administration on personal estate of the said deceased should be given to her together with Elijah Mubie of the said town of Meridith.
