REICHENBACH/RHINEBECK FAMILY

Chris Rhinebeck died 20 Mar 1921. He's been a real enigma to me - His Father was Phillip Reichenbach who emigrated from Germany around 1850 and settled somewhere in Brooklyn. He had three sons, that I know of that, lived to adulthood, Chris, my grandfather, seems to have worked around Fremont in Sullivan county where he apparently met my Grandmother, Maria Gregory whom I believe came from Andes. In any case, Chris apparently changed the spelling of his name to agree with the city Rhinebeck, NY. His two brothers settled in New Jersey and they changed the spelling of their name to Reinbeck.

I believe Long Eddy lies in Delaware Co. Chris's Farm was about half way between Long Eddy and Fishes Eddy. The O&W train stop was Fishes Eddy , the mail was through Long Eddy. --George Rhinebeck

I run a thrift store in Melbourne, Florida and have a box of old photographs. I was doing a little research and found that one of the photos I have in the shop has the name of Chris Rhinebeck written on it. The description states there were 3 brothers and there are 3 boys in the photo. --Linda R. Fiers - juststuffmelbourne@gmail.com
