John A. Everett Dies At West Meredith:
Sept.2, 1947 a highly respected farmer of West Meredith born on December 25, 1865 to John and Deborah(Husted) Everett. He lived for a time as a boy with Deacon M. Russell of Peaks Brook, lately went to Bainbridge where he graduated from high school, studied law for a time and then taught school. He married Lillian Shaver August 31, 1892 in the Episcopal church of Oneonta. To them was born a son, John Shaver Everett of Delhi. He was a member of the Delhi Masonic Lodge, No. 439.
Besides his wife and son he is survived by two grandchildren, Frances and Mary Everett of Delhi; two sisters, Mrs. Alice TenBroek and Mrs. Jennie Smith both of Oneonta; a brother-in-law, Frank Shaver of Bainbridge. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Henry, and a sister Mrs. Hattie Shaver. Relatives from out of town: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shutts, Mrs. Pansy Griffin, Everett B. Holmes; Tracy Shaver of Oneonta; Adelbert Holmes, West Davenport; Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Shaver, Davenport Center; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Russell, Binghamton; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Knapp of California; Paul Vezina; Gladys Shaver of Stamford, Conn.; Mr. and Mrs. George Shaver, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Sawyer, Perry Shaver, of Unadilla.
Lived past 26 years at Unadilla. Died of Bright's disease at age 77. Born in Meredith April 10, 1862 son of John L. and Julia Anne Bisbee Shaver. On Dec. 9, 1896 he married Miss Blanche Scott of West Meredith. He worked in paperhanging and painting for several years. He was a member of the Sidney Grange, the Knights of Pythias, and the Odd Fellows of Sidney.
Surviving besides Mrs. Shaver are Three daughters Mrs. Irving Sawyer, at home; Mrs. Paul Vezina, and Miss Gladys Shaver both of Stamford, Conn.; Perry Shaver of Unadilla; Mrs. Lillian Everett of Meridale; a sister and two brothers, Ernest Shaver of West Meredith and Laverne Shaver of Davenport Center.
Mrs. George Shaver:
Mrs. Blanche May Shaver of Unadilla died Oct. 13, 1954 at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ellen J. Vezina of Stamford, Conn. She was 77 yrs. old. She was born May 9, 1877, at Meridale, daughter of Andrew and Ellen Kemp Scott. Marriage George Shaver in 1899. She had a sister Mrs. Grace Plankenhorn. Burial Pine Grove Cemetery, Meridale.
Charles F. Everett of Meridale, accompanied by his sister Mrs. Alice Pindar (formerly Alice Everett) departed for Hudson Falls. Charles is to marry Mrs. Florence Ostrander. Married by Rev. S.A. Terry. Mr. and Mrs. Everett will return to Meridale where groom is aa well-known farmer and much respected citizen.
