Delaware County NY Genealogy and History Site

This is a picture from my grandmother's ancestral album. My grandmother was Istania (Dillon)McConnell of Hancock. I have compared it to others in the album, and the face looks like a young picture of my great grandmother Anna Funday (Wakeman) Dillon (Istania's mother). She is in a Native American costume. I have shown it to members of the Navajo, Hopi and Apache tribes out here and they have told me that it appears authentic. There has always been some family hearsay that Native American blood existed in my ancestral line, and it would be great if it could be proven as from the Lennai-Lenape (?) or Delaware tribe. --Tom McConnell, Scottsdale, AZ
